Residents selected to serve are expected to participate constructively, make a reasonable effort to attend meetings and complete accepted assignments, work collaboratively, protect confidential or non-public HOA/homeowner information, avoid circulating speculation or presenting matters under Board consideration as final decisions, and disclose actual or potential conflicts of interest.
Committee role and authority: Committees generally research, assist, and make recommendations to the Board unless authority is specifically delegated. Committee service does not make a volunteer a Board member or independently authorize the volunteer to act or speak for the Association.
Committee members may not independently commit HOA funds, enter into agreements, direct vendors, promise Board action, issue violations or directives, modify common-area property, or represent themselves as having HOA authority unless specifically authorized in accordance with the HOA governing documents and applicable Board procedures.
